Built with AWildSun Games and Westlow for the 2026 Artfight Game, Artfight Arena is a turn-based, Pokemon-style fighting game starring each creators own Artfight attack characters, developed and updated daily throughout the event.

Artfight Arena was built for the 2026 Artfight Game alongside AWildSun Games and Westlow, a turn-based fighting game in the vein of Pokemon, where every combatant is drawn from the team’s own Artfight attack characters. Each contributor’s Artfight gallery effectively doubles as the game’s character roster — DarthPackman’s, Westlow’s, and Sunny’s attacks all feeding directly into playable fighters.
Rather than treating a month of Artfight attacks as standalone pixel art, Artfight Arena gives them a shared, interactive home: a turn-based combat system where each character’s identity and moveset are built from art the team actually produced during the event. A community “hit list” submission form was also kept open throughout development, letting players suggest which characters they’d like to see added to the roster.
Rather than a single jam-length sprint, Artfight Arena was built and shared in public across a running devlog — reaching Day 29 of continuous daily updates by the end of July 2026, with the game still listed as “in development” and receiving regular additions and refinements throughout the month rather than shipping once and stopping.
Artfight Arena successfully turns a month’s worth of collaborative Artfight art into a genuinely playable turn-based fighter, sustained by daily development and shaped in part by direct community input on its growing roster.
